The following Terms apply to commissioned website builds (Service) by the customer (You) to be completed by the developer (I).
For privacy information, please read our Privacy Policy.
Costs & Cancelations
When requesting a quote for a Service, please keep in mind the following.
My current hourly rate is: $50 (USD) per hour
The quote will be for the labor associated with the build of a custom WordPress website. The quote will not include any third-party charges (such as hosting, domain, SSL, malware removal, backup plans, shipping costs, additional premium themes or plugins etc.). You may cancel the contract at any time, however the deposit is non-refundable after the development link is sent. If the invoice is not paid in full after two (2) months of the project completion with no contact, your development site is subject to deletion and the contract will be considered canceled.
Revisions
The quote total will include up to two (2) rounds of full revisions. A round of revisions consists of one email or word doc with a list of changes you’d like to be made to the site. To help streamline the process, I encourage you to wait for my prompt to take a look at the site when I am ready for critique and changes to happen, so there isn’t an extremely long back and forth process of making a bunch of changes that can lengthen the development time. I typically will ask for the first critique and revision after the overall site style and home page is built out, in order to nail down the look and feel and branding, and then the second round after the remainder of the site is built to finalize the functionality. Any additional revisions requested outside of the 2 rounds will be subject to an additional hourly charge.
Copyrights
All files used for your site are to be original works, free stock photos, or paid assets to which you otherwise own the copyrights to. I do not and will not own any copyrights of any files on the website and am not responsible for any copyright infringements that may occur with using images provided by you to be used on the website. If photos are not provided, free stock photos will be used as placeholder images to ensure no copyrights are violated. I do not own any copyrights to the website itself, that entirely belongs to you. I will add a small “Website by Designer Bun” link at the very bottom in the footer as a signature on launch to include it in my portfolio. I ask that this be left on until it is either redesigned or restructured, though it does not grant me any rights to the website whatsoever.
Maintenance
When the site is approved and launched on your own hosting account, you will be responsible for site maintenance and keeping up with any 3rd party recurring costs. I will include instructions on how to update your website after it’s launched, however for one month after the date of launch, you have access to 2 free hours of my services for maintenance (including backups, plugin updates, error fixes, content changes, image changes; not including product additions, new pages, full redesign, or new functionality). After that, if you’d like to use my services for maintenance, I would be happy to offer them at a discounted hourly rate with a two (2) hour minimum. I am not responsible for any loss of business or sales due to website downtime, which may occur from not paying hosting fees, manual or automatic updates of plugins, or the occasional shared server downtime for maintenance or DDOS attacks. I highly encourage you to consider making backups consistently via plugin or additional plan in your hosting account in order to ensure your data is safe and easily accessible in the event of a total website loss.
Deposit and Delivery
To begin development, at least 50% of the invoice is required upfront. After all revisions are completed and the site is approved for launch, I will require the remainder of the invoice to be paid in full prior to launching. I will also need the login to your hosting account or otherwise be given access to a clean WordPress installation as an administrator. Launching consists of copying the site files over, setting you up with your own admin account, setting all emails to go to you, and attaching any analytics codes needed to be added to the live site (ie Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc).
Turnaround Times
Depending on my queue and the size and complexity of the website being commissioned, completed development time may take anywhere between one (1) to three (3) months. If you have a project that needs to be completed by a deadline, please let me know before the project start, and a rush fee may incur.
